.Akitaka Katayama. One of Rei's true and closest friends, Akitaka was also a motorcyclist until an accident claimed his leg. He cares a lot for Rei, almost like an older brother would and is disturbed with Rei's fascination with death. He wants to look after his friend but does not want to seem as if he's interfering with Rei's life. Because of his accident, Akitaka is even more protective of Rei but he knows his boundaries. He trains Rei in an upcoming race, hoping to influence him through his love of this dangerous sport.
.Kyoko Katayama. Akitaka's wife and also another close friend of Rei's. She is too a racer and is having second thoughts about allowing Rei to race. She is extremely worried about Rei as well and wants to help anyway she can. However, she does not allow her worries to interfere within Rei's life. I think of her and Akitaka as two guardian angels watching Rei from afar.
.Sei Kashino. Sei is Rei's twin brother, make that desceased twin brother. I don't wanna give too much information about his death because it is a spoiler but maybe if you all bother me enough I'll post it here ^.^ All I'm gonna say is that it haunts Rei till this day.
.Masao Kirishima. When this boy was young he saw Rei in a fight, a fight where he killed a man. From then on, he's been obsessed with Rei. He tracks him down and finds him in Japan. He constantly provokes Rei, trying to bring out his dangerous side which Kira has now successfully tamed. One shamefully tortured soul he is, he enjoys suffering and causing pain upon others. Not exactly the type of person you want to know.
.Shiori Sakurazawa. An extremely sweet and lovable girl at least until you have an interest in "her man". That is when her true nature rises; whiny, desperate, despicable, another obstacle to try and come between Rei and Kira's relationship. She is a ghotsly figure from Rei's past, a past he wants to forget. She was friends with both Rei and Sei in middle school and she has arrived to try and conjure up those "good ol' memories".
.Shuichi Takemura. Another one of Rei and Sei's buddies from middle school. He along with Shiori, reappear in Rei's life at an unneccessary time. He was one of Rei's closest friends at the time and always trying to help Shiori anyway he could. He was bascially the Mr. Smithers to her Mr. Burns.
